Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Whimsy

I love a touch of whimsy!

Create

This cute pup was created by a lab and a beagle.

Dust

"Eat my dust!"

Sprout

A sprout is a sign of beautiful things to come.

Drop(s)

If you look closely you may be able to decipher what the reflection in the drops actually is.

Have a fantastic week ya'll!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

I really love Ashley’s SHS. I look forward to it all week! Here are my interpretations for the week.
Glimpse
This is a glimpse of the beauty of Virginia Hylton park. We have loved this park from the day we moved to SC over seven years ago. It’s a park that has grown with us. It served us well when the boys were just toddlers and offers great exploration opportunities for the boys now.

Crossed
This is the little creek at the afore mentioned park. The fun used to be the play structures; now the fun is seeing who can cross the creek without touching the water.

Handwritten
This is handwritten in the fact that it is writing and it’s made by hand. For the complete word string art tutorial, see this Project Pinterest post.

Bliss
A few nights ago the four of us were getting pretty antsy at home. We decided to head to Gibson Pond Park to watch the sunset and play a bit. We all sat on a swinging bench to absorb all of God’s beauty around us. It was truly bliss!

Yet another beautiful sight at Gibson Pond Park!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday–Saluda River Edition

Mainly One Color
I nearly always have my camera with me. I was thankful the other night when it down poured and I had my camera with me to get night with rain shots.

Around the Home
Around our home this week has been filled with all things ankylosing spondylitis. Sometimes the treatments are as bad as the disease itself, but unfortunately it’s essential to take the meds. This past month I’ve been plagued by stomach pain. Turns out I have a bleeding ulcer from years of NSAID for the inflammation and H. Pylori bacteria (that most people do have) in the stomach that turned infectious due to my lowered immunity from the Humira. Ugh! It’s hard to not get down about me health and lack of control over it, so I continually give it to God and know that He has plans to prosper me and not harm me and plans for my future.
Oh, and I knew about that white dog hair on the bracelet. My dog, God love him, sheds like a crazy and his fur is everywhere.

Water
Remember when these were all the rage in the blogosphere? This one features the Saluda River.

Words
See where it says “water”. Yeah, I could’ve used this shot for water too.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday and Project Pinterest Reminder

Let’s be honest, all of my shots this week are kind of weird. Weird in just, well, a weird way.

I can’t explain it, so I’ll just get on with it and show you my shots.

Macro

Any guess on what this is a macro shot of?

Found Texture

Again, any guess what this found texture is?

Home

What kind of soil do you have? We have red clay and it drives me nuts because it is EVERYWHERE!

Cover

Most are red. Some are blue. It’s comforting to know we have a fire hydrant in our side yard.

Tree

We have one tree. :( When we saw this lot we like it because it was all trees. We assumed they’d keep at least some of the trees, but we assumed wrong.

Gibson Pond Park at Dusk

I love the light at dusk and was wanting to take some pictures so we packed up the scooters and camera and headed over to Gibson Pond Park last night. I LOVE fall here in South Carolina!

Turned on its side, doesn’t it look like a Rorschach Blot test? What do you see?

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Inspired by a Book or Movie
Forgive me, but my memory is less than stellar. I know this shot reminds me of a Southern movie mansion, but I don’t recall which movie. I even tried googling my thoughts on what it could be, but to no avail.
mansion

Brown
My hair is brown. So are my freckles. So is the lining around my lips. Isn’t that so weird. I swear I got it after being pregnant with Charlie.

Tea
If you could see just to the right of this chandelier, you would see a fancy tea room.
I didn’t dare starting shooting in the tea room. Would’ve been down right impolite of me!

Linger
This little guy lingered on our window for what seemed like forever.
We kept rapping the glass to get him off but it didn’t seem to bother him at all.

Charleston {Part Deux}

For part one, click here.
The adults and I (minus Kurt) went out to eat at Poogan’s Porch. I’m not sure what I was thinking not taking a picture of the outside. It’s a historic house turned restaurant. They named it Poogan’s Porch because the dog that lived there was named Poogan. His grave is in the front yard. Anyway, this is my grandma oohing and ahhing over her hummingbird cake with a fried plantain slice on top.
9

We walked around downtown after the dinner. This is Second Presbyterian Church (not the first!) at night.
10

We went on a carriage tour of downtown. Ryan loved the horses, Carter and Cash.

5

This is Charleston Harbor. The middle island is Ft. Sumter and one of the other two is Ft. Moultrie.
Yeah, guess I wasn’t really paying attention at that point!
6

Norma and my Grandma had matching shoes and my mom and I had matching shoes.
7

8

We ate dinner at Fleet Landing and the view was beautiful!

Sunday morning the boys sat through a three hour brunch at a five-star restaurant. Boy was I proud!
Grandma enjoyed her special banana ice cream dessert.

After a long weekend we headed home and rested!
