Be Still…

Sometimes it’s hard to just be still. Sometimes it’s hard to turn off all of the distractions. Sometimes it’s hard to even shut the camera off and be still when I know I should be appreciating nature and being in prayer and thanksgiving to God for all of his wonders. This little flower/weed reminded me of that.

My Town
1

Something Vintage
It’s Kurt’s birthday tomorrow. He’s officially closer to 40 now than to 30. That’s almost vintage.
2
My birthday is in a couple of weeks. I will be half way between 30 and 40.
That’s less vintage than him, but still feels vintage.

Dress Up
I do not like to dress up. I do not like to wear anything but flip-flops. I do have some fun jewelry though, but I never wear any of it. I wouldn’t wear an armful like this either. This is just for “dress up” purposes.

AJ the Working Dog

Take a look at this handsome fellow! Notice his name/picture badge?

He was our weekend foster pup and is now a facility dog at a local hospital. I am so proud of the wonderful organization called PAALS that we volunteer with.

I know AJ makes so many people smile, and that makes me smile!

Fall? Really?

Even though we’ve lived here for more than six years, the fall here still surprises me everyday.
There are flowers and weeds in bloom all year long here.
I guess it makes up for the hotter than heck summers here.

Lake Murray at Dusk

There’s nothing like dusk on a beautiful lake.
I loved the green tones of the lake and the green reflections of the trees on the water.

After
I took off the dock, straightened it, ran PW’s Boost, and dialed down the crispness a bit.

Football and Goofiness

My boys’ current love is football. They play every minute they can. We live just a few miles from the high school so we went to their practice field/track/weedy overgrowth area and had some fun.
Have I ever mentioned that this kid makes me laugh? Remember Chris Farley’s physical comedy? Ryan does that kind of crazy physical funniness that makes me (us) crack up.

If I titled pictures, I’d title this one, “Birds on a Wire”. Wait, that’s not a wire. That’s a pole. Ok, never mind!
4
Any suggestions on how I could get the football in this mid-air shot to not be so fuzzy?5
Hello up there!
6
See that football’s trajectory? I think it was intentional.

From the Stands

When I grew up in SD, fall meant cold, snow and bundling up.
For my children, fall in SC means shirts off and playing football.
Crazy weird how different SD and SC are!

Daddy Long Legs

This daddy long legs’ legs were a good three inches or more long.
It always shocks me how neat these spiders are!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Five Senses
Smell the pine scent. Hear the pine straw rustle in the breeze. See the brown hues. Feel the pointy seeds. Taste the sticky sap (well, don’t really, it could be poisonous, maybe).

Dining
This is what we dined on for dinner a few nights ago. We love having breakfast for dinner. The pancakes are on my new dishes I got at a local thrift store for $8 for an entire set!

Night
We had a rough day. This beautiful painted night sky reminds me that God is in charge and things will be ok.

Sky
I tried to capture a nighttime moon shot, but wasn’t able to get a good one. This sky shot was taken at dusk the beginning of this week.

Here’s to a better week!
