Handmade
This isn’t exactly homemade, but the beautiful backyard that my mom and Richard have created with their own hands is so peaceful. This is a banana tree pod where the bananas are hiding out. Every year they did out the banana trees in the winter and replant them in the spring.
Orange
Give Ryan a stick and he’s a happy boy. Give me a camera and some pretty leaves and I’m a happy girl.
Candles
I celebrated my 35th birthday this week. I’m caught up between feeling “old” and feeling way too young to be this age.
Signs
This is my good friend Tracy waiting for her son to get off the bus.
Self-portrait
OK, ladies who else had a really rough time doing a self-portrait? I struggled and struggled with this. I wish it wasn’t so hard to accept a picture of myself. You know how you look in your own mind? This is not at all what I look like in my own mind.
Sarah:)
Wow! I can't even describe how much I love your handmade shot! Great work!
ReplyDeleteNeat perspective on your traffic sign shot. I totally agree with the self portrait. I just about didn't join this week because of that one picture.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a lot of work to dig up and replant the bananas every year! kudos to them!
ReplyDeleteand happy birthday! 35 is definitely not old.
I think pictures of yourself are kind of like listening to yourself talk on a phone recording. You never look/sound like you think you do.
These are all so great, Sarah! LOVE the "sign" and your take on handmade.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteLove your self-portrait. You look lovely
Very cool sign composition and great smile :D
ReplyDeleteThese are all awesome. Love your orange and your sign photos. Yes it was sooo hard to do a self portrait!
ReplyDeleteLove these pictures!! And what a neat idea about the banana tree. Do they live in SC also? I ask because we planted a banana tree and I'm now not quite sure what to do with it.
ReplyDeleteLove them, I really like your orange and sign photos. It is hard to take a selfie shot, you did great.
ReplyDeleteLove the perspective of the stop sign!!! And I, too, struggled with the self-portrait. I took SO many pictures and ditched all but the one I posted! :)
ReplyDeleteLove all of the pictures! I have a hard time taking self portraits too! I always feel so awkward!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! They're all fantastic! I hope you had a wonderful birthday! And I love your self portrait!
ReplyDeleteI totally know what you mean - I turned 40 this year and I feel the same way. Too young to be this old!
These are all great - I love your signs shot especially. Great work!
ReplyDeleteLove the crop on your sign shot!
ReplyDeleteThese are all lovely!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm with you, I look different in my mind! Actually I always look different in the mirror at home to what I look like when I catch a glimpse of my reflection at the shops LOL!
I love the banana pod! Very neat! I love the black and white self portrait too. I never see myself the same way as the camera does either.
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish I was where you live...we had snow this week. The banana tree is lovely. And so are you. (self portraits are so hard). Fantastic photos, as always!
ReplyDeleteI really like your unique interpretation of the sign shot! And the banana pod is really cool.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots and I love your candle picture.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about not seeing yourself in your head the way you really look. I think it's why I stay on the other side of the camera so much. :-) The photos you shared are really lovely.
ReplyDeleteAnd happy belated birthday to you!
Love love love your orange!!! And Happy Birthday! I'm just a couple months behind you!
ReplyDeleteThese are great shots. I love the sign one, such in interesting composition :D
ReplyDeleteI really like your "orange" shot. At first I thought he was raking and then I said to myself, "that's a really big rake!" Ha! Love that shot! ~ I hate selft portraits or any picture of me for that matter.
